Welcome to the Central Pennsylvania Guild of Handweavers (CPGH)
The purpose of the Central Pennsylvania Guild of Handweavers is to promote excellence in design and craftsmanship in the fiber arts, to promote enjoyment of the fiber arts and to provide educational and social opportunities for its members.
The Guild strives to meet these goals through its monthly meetings and informal study groups. At most meetings, we feature a program related to the fiber arts, show-and-tell of members work, "weave doctor" to help solve problems, a short business meeting, and socializing.
We meet at 1 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are a mix of virtual, in-person and hybrid. In-person/hybrid meetings are held at the Jean Barnett Trone Memorial Library, 105 Locust Street, East Berlin, Pennsylvania, 17316. We host a winter holiday potluck and gift exchange in December (starts at 11 AM) and the June meeting is a Pot Luck Picnic & "Castoffs" Sale that raises money for the Guild. Check out our upcoming programs. If you are not member but are interested in attending, please email [email protected].
The Guild is pleased to offer our members an opportunity to advance their weaving skills through our Guild Advancement Program.
CPGH currently has approximately 90 members, mostly from Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. Visitors are always welcome to attend a meeting free of charge.
Typical CPGH Meeting Schedule:
1:00 PM Monthly Program begins
followed by a brief business meeting
2:30 PM Social time
The Weaver's Knot is our Guild's newsletter, which is published monthly. All members are invited to submit articles and information pertaining to fiber arts for the review of the editor. Please send your information to the Weaver's Knot Editor.
